The future could be for our oceans as Coral Reefs grow again

Posted by BBC Earth Life Is

Home to a quarter of the planet’s marine life, wonderfully weird-looking, and of course brilliantly colourful, coral reefs are often hailed as one of the greatest ocean wonders.

Reefs have been seriously under threat for years from global warming and other human impacts, but the discovery of an ancient coral reef in the South Pacific and the amazing practice of ‘coral gardening’ could mean a turnaround for the ocean’s reefs.

Read the full story on the BBC Earth Blog, including a video of coral gardening.

FileMaker Fever: FileMaker Go Must Have Documentation

FileMaker Fever: FileMaker Go Must Have Documentation: “

Ipadshowingfmgo_180w If you are using or creating a FileMaker database and want to provide a satisfying experience via FileMaker Go, you will need the best information available about how FileMaker Go differs from FileMaker Pro.

You will need advice about changes you can make to your current FileMaker database to make it data-safe and touch-friendly to iPhone and iPad users.

Make sure you’ve got these three resources, handy:

FileMaker Go Development Guide, FMI

FileMaker Go Tech Brief, Scott Love, Soliant

FileMaker Go Training Tool, Richard Carlton Consulting

There is some overlap between the three, but beggars can’t be choosers at this preliminary phase of the FileMaker Go learning curve.

There are definitely other blog posts and resources out there. These are the top three. As I discover other essential resources, I will post them on FileMaker Fever.

Is it just me or has there been a lot of logo hate going around lately? Apparently hell hath no fury like an armchair graphic designer scorned, if you go by some of the comments on the “Hate The iTunes 10 Logo? Think You Can Do Better?” post. Along with haters doing what they do best (hint: it’s hating) we also got a ton of alternative submissions. Here are ten of the most noteworthy above. And in case you want to switch the current iTunes 10 logo out, here’s how to do it on a Mac and on a PC.
