Apple can still win the mobile platform wars, but it won’t be easy: ” BetaNews.Com 8/13/10 12:56 PM Joe Wilcox By Joe Wilcox, Betanews

The InterWeb is buzzing about Android’s sudden second quarter smartphone OS market share surge against Apple’s iOS and Research in Motion’s BlackBerry OS. Windows Mobile was a goner last quarter. But behind the numbers is a bigger question: Which mobile platform will be more successful? Smartphones are but one small measure of success.

Android’s smartphone surge — to No. 3 worldwide and No. 1 in the United States during second quarter, according to Gartner — doesn’t surprise me. I laid out the scenario in October 2009 post ‘Apple cannot win the smartphone wars’ and again in May with ‘Like I said, Apple cannot win the smartphone wars.'”

Agile Blog : Automatic Syncing Using Dropbox: “Automatic Syncing Using Dropbox

Yay! We’re ecstatic to announce that Apple approved the new 1Password Pro version in the App Store! It means that we can finally spill the beans on a cool new feature we’ve been itching to tell you about for a long time:

1Password can now sync automatically using Dropbox!

Also known as ‘syncing to the cloud’, this amazing feature allows you to keep your Mac, Windows, and iOS devices in sync at all times, even when they are running on different networks. (Yes, I did say Windows; 1Password for Windows is currently in beta testing)

You can find out how to enable this feature in the User Guide: Automatic Syncing Using Dropbox.

We hope you love ‘syncing to the cloud’ using Dropbox as much as we do! Keeping all your Macs, Windows, and iOS devices in sync is now easy as pie. Gluten-free blueberry pie, that is :)”

New Website

I’ve finally switched over to the WordpWordpressLogo.jpgress website for MacConsulting. I’ve added the relevant links and static pages to replicate the old site. For now I’ll have a redirect to the blog page and see how that goes. Thanks and I look forward to filling it with items of interest as they happen.

Get a free copy of The Macintosh Way, my first book

  Posted by Guy Kawasaki

The Macintosh Way is the first book that I wrote. It explained the Macintosh philosophy of doing the right things the right way. I recently got the rights back for the book, and I’m making it available for free. My buddies at OfficeDrop took one of the last copies that I owned and turned it into a PDF, and Pixability made this video about the process.

If you’d like the PDF, go to Freemacway.com. You can also get the iPad version from OfficeDrop here.
