Windows Mobile was a goner last quarter. But behind the numbers is a bigger question: Which mobile platform will be more successful? Smartphones are but one small measure of success.<\/p>\n<p>Android&#8217;s smartphone surge &#8212; to No. 3 worldwide and No. 1 in the United States during second quarter, according to Gartner &#8212; doesn&#8217;t surprise me.
